Have a B2400 with a Bush Hog loader (18hp at PTO i believe). When we bought it, the salesman talked us into a 5' bush hog (Big Bee 'Agri Five' brand) instead of a 4' model of same make. Tractor and PTO seem to run the cutter okay, but here's the problem I have: The lower arms on the 3pt hitch will raise up to about 21 inches max. The mounting pins on the cutter are about 18 inches off the ground. In other words, I can only raise the front of the cutter about 3 inches off the ground and it obviously digs in whenever i go over any kind of bump. Did I just buy too much bush hog for tractor or is there just some adjustment I'm missing? Does anyone know of another brand that would fit this tractor better? I had also thought about finding someone with a torch to cut mounting holes lower on the cutter.... bad idea?

I think the "professional" who recommended and sold the unit now has an obligation to make it work. I would take it back and have the dealer alter or replace it. ....

My King Kutter brush hog was the same way.
The lift pins were to high when I bought the mower and I couldn't lift it high enough.
I just drilled new holes for the lift pins and lowered them ! ....

This is just another time that modifications need to be done as there are few good statndards for this type of equipment. I wouldn't recommend a mower that size here in central NY do to the hills but it doesn't mean it won't work some place else. Drilling the ne holes to lower the pins is as good as any idea. ....

I have the B2410 with a John Deere 48 inch brush hog. The John Deere brush hog had different sets of lift holes for the 3 point lift allowing me to make the adjustment; however, I still can not lift it as high as I would like. ....
